E-Learning
By definition, E-Learning is the online delivery of training, education,
and communication for the purpose of creating
demonstrable changes in an individual’s
skills, behavior, performance, and abilities.
Unlike classroom or distance learning environments (which use
audio, video, books, email, etc.), everything
is built into the learning system. The content
is built into the system, the instructional design
model is applied to the content when the courseware
is authored, and the program is delivered online
without an instructor. The system evaluates the learner
at predefined learning points and administers
the program. It has a limitless ability to deliver
with no incremental costs associated with additional
learners.

The success of an organization’s learning
strategy is directly connected to the clarity
and the organization’s understanding of:
- Clear business objectives
- Knowledge of the learner’s
capabilities and constraints (e.g. – geographical,
technical, financial, ability, time, cultural
and language)
The challenge is to:
- Develop a learning strategy
- Design a program to best
engage individual learners
- Deliver the greatest amount
of learning in the shortest amount of time
- Maximize learner retention
E-Education is focused on what
is traditionally viewed as public education.
E-Training is
focused on corporate objectives.
